The 1853 Society
The 1853 Society recognizes the year of Sheppard Pratt's founding and honors Moses Sheppard and Enoch Pratt, who both made generous bequests to create a hospital that would provide modern, compassionate care to those with mental health conditions.
The 1853 Society honors people who include Sheppard Pratt in their estate plans. You can join the 1853 Society either by including us in your will, a trust, or designating Sheppard Pratt as the beneficiary of one of your accounts. Members are recognized in our annual report but may remain anonymous if they choose. If you are interested in becoming a member, please reach out to Daniela Fried, senior director of development and gift planning, at daniela.fried@sheppardpratt.org or by phone at 443-826-7217.
To include Sheppard Pratt in your estate plan, please use our official name, Sheppard and Enoch Pratt Foundation, Inc. Our tax ID number is 52-1357109.
